A
Glimpse of Our History
Officially
Technical Implementation Unit Aero-Gasdynamics and Vibration
Laboratory (UPT-LAGG) was established in 1990 as a product
of LAGG/BPPT Developmental Team, which was started in 1979.
In its masterplan, LAGG will have the following facilities,
in existence and to be provided in the future:
- Indonesian
Low speed wind tunnel, ILST
- High speed
wind tunnel, HST
- Flight mechanics
laboratory, FML
- Aero-acoustic/vibration
laboratory, AVL
- Computational
fluid dynamics, CFD
- Library, mechanical
& electronic workshop
As
the time goes by, the following facilities have been realized
: Indonesian Low Speed Tunnel (ILST) which is supported by
various facilities, such as vibration and acoustics measurement
devices, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) facility, manufacturing
workshop for producing highly precision objects, Library and
Electronics Workshop. Due to our on-going economic crisis,
the development of High speed wind tunnel (HST) and Flight
mechanics laboratory (FML) is pending. Nonetheless, the Flight
mechanics laboratory has been constructed separately in PT
Dirgantara Indonesia (PT. Indonesian Aerospace) to fulfil
their Flight Tests requirement at the time
Mission
To
provide industries, research and educational establishments
as well as governmental agencies with a sound solution through
services in :
- Wind Tunnel
Design and Testing
- Fine mechanical
design and manufacturing
- Software and
system engineering development
- Vibration and
aero-elastic testing
- Computational
Fluid Dynamics
- Training and
education
Professional
Membership
In
order to support our activities and to maintain our competitiveness
as well as informamation exchange, especially in the field
of Aerodynamics/Aeronautics, LAGG has become a member of SATA
(Subsonic Aerodynamic Testing Association), whose meeting
is conducted annually.
Additionally,
we have facilitated 2 of our staff to become a member of AIAA
(American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics) to gain
better access to Information in the fields of Aeronautics
and Astronautics.
We
are also actively participating in various seminars/conferences
conducted by PICAST (Pacific International Conference on Aerospace
Science & Technology), and taking part as steering committee
in seminars held by ASA (Aerodynamics Specialists Association).
